Darryl Pedersen:
National President Queensland
Mob 0418 450 641
Darryl is a general carrier from the Atherton Tablelands. He owns a Kenworth T600, driving a Brisbane to Cairns weekly service. With 18 years experience, Daryl joined the association because of newly introduced fatigue management and other laws that he deems stupid.
Darryl feels that they are killing the industry. He thinks that over-regulation and fatigue management does not work because you can’t drive to your body clock; you are forced to be regulated which in his opinion is far more dangerous.
Darryl Pedersen is someone that you can rely on. He deserves a voice, because he is very intelligent, hard working and honest. He is an Australian Businessman carving out his living on the highway.
What is Darryl Pedersen doing in the NRFA - he is giving up his time and praying that by doing so some common-sense will be brought back into the equation.
In Queensland, call Darryl Pedersen on 0418 450 641. or

Wendy Georgetti-Remkes N.T. Delegate
Darwin N.T. Mob 0488 185 852
Wendy Georgetti-Remkes -
This pocket of dynamite has done a lot of living. She brings a fantastic dimension to the group and with over 32 years as an airline hostess, she knows about fatigue.
Wendy has a favourite saying at the moment:
"You cannot dictate fatigue, hours a man is capable of working, when he should rest, when he should stop, according to a set of rules set by a bunch of bureaucrats - the only person who can judge and handle fatigue, is the man himself. Nobody else."
Wendy learnt to drive trucks in 1966, carting bread between airline hostie jobs. When she retired from flying in 2003, Wendy decided to return to the Northern Territory, because it is the ‘best place in the world’. Although driving road trains was not part of her plan, she fell into it, after encouragement from her now husband, Bart, an experienced road train driver.
From 5 star hotels in Paris, LA, London to roadhouses in Fitzroy Crossing, Port Hedland, Halls Creek etc, Wendy is now on the road all of the time, driving two-up with Bart from Darwin to Brisbane. She sees trucking as an exciting new world and she became involved with the National Road Freighters Association because she is outraged at the indignities thrown at the trucking industry by governments, particularly the Queensland government.
In the Northern Territory, call Wendy on 0488 185 852

QLD DELEGATE
Ken Wilkie QLD Delegate
Beenleigh QLD Mob 0427-742-554
Ken Wilkie - Has been an owner driver since 1974. For the past fifteen or so years we have delivered d/g from Melbourne to Rockhampton and many points in between. Previously I have served on the boards of the NTF which amalgamated with the LDRTA to become Natroad. I was the first o/ driver elected to the Road Transport Forum (ATA). I became disenchanted with these groups because to my mind they have become more industrial relation orientated than industry advocates. It is for this reason that my wife and myself have made our K104 available to Rod H at a nominal rate to support his Truck Right Industry Vehicle program. Small operators and drivers need their own voice- again the TWU is an industrial relation organisation with strong political allegiances . I am disgusted with the manner that truck drivers have been and are being treated by the authorities primarily and secondly how quickly the big end of town dispenses with integrity in its hast to pander to bureaucracy. To think this is the country that gave the world the ANZACs
